The former senator of Kaduna Central District, Shehu Sani has declared support behind the recent move of some students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

Recall that some UNILAG students, on Wednesday, September 13, hit the street to express their dissatisfaction with the raised tuition fees announced by the school management.

The protesters (the UNILAG students), joined by their peers from other universities, chanted centrally on the need for the school authorities to reduce the fees.

Reacting, In a post shared on his X page (formerly Twitter), Sani commended the students for their actions and urged other Nigerian students to emulate them.

Sani tweeted:

“Unilag students protest against the hike in school fees is commendable; Students from other higher institutions across the country facing same situation should emulate them.”

Rusticated UNIABUJA student drags university to court, demands N50m damages

A recently rusticated student of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), Oladeru Samson Olamilekan, has filed a suit against the school management at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Olamide was rusticated over planned protests against the recent hike in school fees.

Olamilekan is seeking an order “reinstating forthwith the Applicant as a bonafide student of the 1st Respondent (UNIABUJA), with all rights and privileges attached thereto.”

Shehu Sani reacts as Kano gov stops increment of tuition fees

Earlier, Shehu Sani commended the Kano state government headed by Abba Kabir Yusuf over his recent decision.

Shehu Sani, in a post shared on his Twitter page on Tuesday, August 15, disclosed the decision by Governor Yusuf to stop private and government institutions from increasing school fees.

Sani noted that it is a welcome development and that other state governors should do the same because dollars and petrol issues in the country should not be used as an excuse to bill parents more.
