Now Reading: Unbreakable English Premier League Records

Unbreakable English Premier League Records

September 13, 20234 min read

Records are always meant to be broken by someone else in the near future, or by the creator in the consecutive season. But are all records breakable? Are the 34 goals in a season of EPL scripted in 1993/94 breakable?

Well 34 goals in a long season like EPL seems easy. But trust us, it isn’t as easy as it looks. Many prodigies over the years came with fearsome guts and skills, but couldn’t break these records. Until, Norwegian Erling Haaland from Manchester City, scored 36 goals, and destroyed Cole and Shearer’s record.

As the new season kicked off on 12th August which will continue till May 2024, many records are on the verge of being broken while others are nearly untouchable. So, why not bet on some of these facts on the Betway sports bettingplatform? Here we will give you tips about the top 3 unbreakable records unless some miracles happen.

1. The Invincibles Arsenal

Can you ever imagine a team that hasn’t lost a single game in their consecutive 49 games in the most captivating league of the world? Well, you have the unbeatable Arsenal for it. In May 2003 and October 2004, Arsenal were unbeaten for 49 games in the league until they were smashed by Manchester United by a controversial 2-0 score.

This record is the top-most contender in the list of unbreakable records. In the blood bath of EPL winning 49 games in a row with 36 wins and 13 draws, it seems nearly unbreakable.

2. 3 in 8

It’s one of Erling Haaland’s charms in the previous season of EPL, where he not only broke the record for most goals in a season of EPL but scored 3 hat-tricks in just 8 games. Doing so, he became the quickest player to score just an insane record.

This is yet another unbreakable record which was previously held by Michael Owen. However, Owen wasn’t lightning fast as Haaland. He took 48 games to achieve this feat. Haaland’s 3 hat-tricks in 8 games is not only the insane record but it came against their arch-rivals Manchester United.

No other Manchester City players in history have ever scored a hat-trick against Manchester United except Haaland.

3. Playing for 23 Seasons

If previous unbreakable records were about skills, then this record is about longevity. In today’s era where players often have to face injuries, Ryan Giggs played for 21 consecutive EPL seasons.

Not only this, they even played two more seasons even before the establishment of the Premier League, which makes a total of 23 seasons of scoring. Ryan Giggs feared for his insane free kick and powerful shooting, holds a memorable goal scoring in the 80th minute in the finals.

Wrapping Up

Records can always be broken. But it will take some special moments or special players to pull it off. As the English Premier League descends to its finals stage we might see more unbreakable records being surpassed. In the world of sports, surprises are always waiting for arrival.
