World Athletics announced the qualification process for the Sports at Paris 2024 last December, setting entry standards that Athletes must meet.

Amusan became the first Nigerian athlete to earn her place at the Games following a remarkable feat at the BAUHAUS-Galan Diamond League event held in Stockholm, Sweden, on July 2.

The former World champion ran an impressive time of 12.52 seconds in the 100m hurdles race at the Olympiastadion, beating the entry time of 12.77 seconds.

Continuing her stellar performance, the 26-year-old sprinter improved her time, achieving a personal season’s best of 12.34 seconds at the Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial Diamond League event in Chorzów, Poland, on July 16.

Nathaniel, the National 400m hurdles record holder (48.42 seconds), also secured his place at his first-ever Olympics. He competed at the World Athletics Championships held in Budapest, where he clocked an impressive time of 48.47 seconds, surpassing the entry standard of 48.70 seconds.

Meanwhile, long jumper Ese Brume will have to try again after narrowly missing qualification at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.

She fell short by just two centimeters with a jump of 6.84 meters, placing fourth in the final.

However, Brume still has an opportunity to meet the required 6.86 meters mark to qualify for the global event.​

Her next chance to qualify will be at the Diamond League final in Oregon, scheduled to take place between September 16-17.

Brume, who has previously participated in two Olympic Games, finishing fifth in her debut in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro and a third-place finish five years later in Tokyo.
