Ikorodu, Lagos state – A former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has said Nigerians can genuinely assist police in its investigation of the death of Promise Oladimeji Aloba popularly known as Mohbad.
Sani urged the public to “constantly keep the issue in the news”.

Sani speaks on investigation into Mohbad’s death
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain said this would help until investigations are over. Mohbad passed on at the age of 27-year-old on Tuesday, September 12.

He wrote on his verified X (formerly known as Twitter) handle on Sunday night, September 17:
“One of the best ways the public can help the Police investigation on the circumstances behind the death of Mohbad is to constantly keep the issue in the news until the investigation is over.”
Sani reacts to Mohbad’s death
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Sani reacted to the death of Mohbad.
Sani said the late singer was one of Nigeria’s greatest artistic ambassadors.
Police begin investigation of Mohbad’s death
In a piece of related news, Legit.ng reported that the Lagos State Police Command confirmed that an investigation has commenced into the cause of the controversial demise of Mohbad.
According to a statement issued on Saturday, September 16, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Idowu Owohunwa, has directed a full-scale criminal investigation into the case.
Police may exhume Mohbad’s body
In another related news, Legit.ng also reported that the Police Command in Lagos state vowed to ensure Mohbad gets justice.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police spokesperson, addressed the concerns surrounding the musician’s death in an interview.
Hundeyin disclosed that if required, Mohbad’s body would be exhumed and to enable autopsy.
