Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso described Victor Boniface as a special player following his stunning start to life in Germany.
Boniface is having an arguably the best moment of his career with Leverkusen, a club he recently joined from Union Saint-Gilloise this summer.
The striker scored four goals and two assists in his first three Bundelisga games, winning the player of the month and rookie of the month award.
And the former Spanish International is already banking on the Nigerian attacker to continue his impressive form in the game.
Speaking ahead of the tie against Bayern Munich, Alonso said:
“He’s a great player, a special player. He’s a striker but he doesn’t just play for himself, he’s generous. We are really happy to have him here”, the coach on Thursday afternoon.
Boniface made his bow in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe last weekend.
