Nigeria won’t be a hard nut to crack after an underwhelming show in the first-leg of their CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations match against Guinea, the opposition head Coach, Morlaye Cisse has suggested.

Guinea held Nigeria to a goalless draw in the first leg of the third qualifying round at the Moshood Abiola’s Stadium in Abuja on Wednesday.

The Guineans by far were the better side after 90 minutes, and missed a number of chances in the game.

Both teams will clash again in the reverse fixture in Rabat next week Tuesday.

Speaking ahead of the second leg, Cisse said his side will finish off the U23 Eagles in Rabat.

“A very positive and somewhat bitter analysis given the number of chances we had in this match. Not punishing them remains a taste of unfinished business,” he told Feguifoot.com.

“But, I am very happy with the boys on the commitment, the motivation and the state of mind that they put on this match. I hope we will be able to reproduce the same thing for the return match,” He said.

The Flying Eagles were eliminated from the tournament after losing 1-0 to South Korea in the quarter-final match on Sunday.

Seok-Hyun Choi’s extra time strike decided the game after the regulation time had ended without a goal.

Speaking after the match, Bosso said his team paid for their profligacy in front of goal.

“We tried our best but it wasn’t good enough,” Bosso said. “Our finishing wasn’t good. But you can see we’ve left a group of players for the federation to build on.”

The Korean Republic will now face Flying Eagles’ Group opponents Gli Azzurrini of Italy in the semi final.
